Last, but not least, you should change the SMTP Port in the Settings area from the default (25) to 587. To use this port, you also need to make sure "Use name and password" is checked under 'Security and Authentication'.
Using port 587 and Authentication means you will be sending mail through a port which external mail senders (and spammers and hackers) cannot access. Thus, even if your local ISP becomes firewalled due to botnet activity, you will still be able to send mail.
Click "OK" and you will be done.
